Manifesting your dream business

Manifesting your dream business

Whether you believe in manifesting or not, I think it’s fair to say we all believe in creating a goal and reaching it. But how do we reach it?

Over the years I have met thousands of business owners and each one has had a slightly different approach. Through my own journey, I tried to replicate these and with little surprise I was unsuccessful. The reason, I changed my approach so often that I never gave any specific method a chance to work. All businesses require nurturing and as business owners we all have methods that work for us however a lot of this is based on how we wish to be perceived and what we are comfortable implementing.

This is extremely important to remember when setting up your business. A few things to consider;

Start with why

Is your business a lifestyle business?

What is your mission statement?

What is your 5 year plan?

What will your role be?

Let’s discuss…

Start with why. What is the meaning or soul idea?

Is your business a lifestyle business? This simply means, is it your passion and could provide a reliable income. Are you entering the industry because it’s your passion and you want to hang out with animals more often? Post pandemic, we are seeing more people choosing this option over a 9am – 5pm office job. If so, you are in the right business. It goes without saying, an undeniable passion for animals is a must.

What is your mission statement? Every decision you make should return to your mission statement and does the outcome align with this. Your mission statement should be the foundation in which your business is build and a constant harness as it evolves.

What is your 5 year plan? It is difficult to get where we are going if we don’t know the destination. Regardless of the duration of your plan, it is wise to check in and keep tabs on your progress. Your plan may change slightly as the business grows and personal circumstance but to have something to work towards acts as a driving force for your success.

What will your role be? This might sound like a silly question but I think its important. If this is a lifestyle business you may be working yourself or with a small team. If your goal is a large scale outfit, its likely you will have a large team. Many business owners like to employ managers to take care of the not so nice jobs like disciplinaries, HR and the less creative roles. If you are a small business you will be less likely to have this luxury and in actual fact may have less of a requirement. If you find confrontation difficult and are unsure of the procedures in place around the legalities of your actions, there are excellent HR companies at your disposal. Many business owners are creative and don’t want to run this side of the business. If this is the case, remember you have lots of options.

Setting up and running a business can be overwhelming. There are so many variables to consider and many differing options. Having a goal and sticking to this can be very helpful and can help you make considered decisions for the success of your business.
